What is BrisAsia Festival?
BrisAsia Festival is set to return from February 1st to 18th, 2024, bringing the vibrant celebration of Lunar New Year and honoring the majestic Year of the Dragon. Known for embodying qualities of power, nobility, leadership, luck, and success, the dragon sets the stage for a festival that promises cultural immersion and family-friendly festivities.

For three exhilarating weeks, BrisAsia Festival invites audiences to immerse themselves in the transformative power of live performances, partake in immersive experiences, and embark on a journey across the diverse landscapes of Asia. The festival’s rich program ensures there’s something for every member of the family.
Returning Favorites
The festival wouldn’t be complete without the return of some crowd favorites. Southside by Night, the hip-hop, luxury car, and Asian food truck event, is set to light up the night once again. BrisAsia ParTEA, a dedicated tea festival, promises a serene and delightful experience. Additionally, the Summer Party, celebrating Asian pop culture, has found a new home at the Thomas Dixon Centre.

About the Festival Producers at Sounds Across Oceans
Sounds Across Oceans, a not-for-profit arts organization, is recognized for its commitment to enhancing community harmony and wellbeing through innovative cultural programming that encompasses a wide range of styles, genres, and art forms. With a foundation rooted in both ancient and modern values, Sounds Across Oceans focuses on creating spaces that encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds to explore and fulfill their artistic potential. The organization is instrumental in facilitating workshops, residencies, concerts, educational programs, and discussion forums, thereby bridging cultural and community divides, promoting the sharing of cultural knowledge, and fostering connections among individuals from varied cultural and creative realms.
The team orchestrating the BrisAsia 2024 event includes producers Gemma Truong of Utopia Entertainment, Menaka Thomas, Minh Nguyen (Chong Ali), Lani Gibbins, and Loic Robillot. The 2024 festival’s collaborative efforts are supported by notable partners such as the Museum of Brisbane, Brisbane Powerhouse, Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium, Fish Lane Arts Precinct, Big Fork Theatre, and Shoku, all contributing to their overarching goal of uniting communities through the transformative power of the arts.
