He expresses immense gratitude towards Mercedes, where he has been a part of since he was 13 years old, acknowledging the difficult decision due to the profound impact the team has had on his life. Hamilton highlights his achievements with Mercedes, including winning titles, breaking records, and establishing the most successful Driver-Team partnership in F1 history.

He thanks the Mercedes-Benz board, Toto Wolff for his leadership and friendship, and remembers Niki Lauda for his support. Hamilton views the move to Ferrari as fulfilling another childhood dream and is excited about the new challenges ahead.

Despite the upcoming transition, he remains focused on the current season with Mercedes, aiming to conclude his partnership with the team on a high note. Hamilton appreciates the support from his fans and is motivated to continue making them proud.

“I feel incredibly fortunate, after achieving things with Mercedes that I could only have dreamed of as a kid, that I now have the chance to fulfil another childhood dream. Driving in Ferrari red.” Lewis Hamilton wrote in the Twitter post.

“Mercedes has been a huge part of my life since I was 13 years old, so this decision has been the hardest I’ve ever had to make.”

Together we have won titles, broken records and become the most successful Driver-Team partnership in F1 history. And of course I cannot forget Niki who was a huge supporter and who I still miss everyday.”

Lewis Hamilton has publicly expressed that joining Ferrari will fulfill a long-held dream, following the official announcement of his move to the iconic Italian team for the 2025 season. This transition comes after his 11th and final season with Mercedes in 2024.

The seven-time Formula 1 world champion, now 39, has always aspired to drive for the Maranello squad and believes the timing is perfect for this significant career change.

“I still remember the feeling of taking a leap of faith into the unknown when I first joined Mercedes in 2013. I know some people didn’t understand it at the time but I was right to make the move then and it’s the feeling I have again now. “However, right now, I’m not thinking about 2025. My focus is on the upcoming season and getting back out on track with Mercedes.
